June 15,2010 (TAUNTON, MA) - NAVIX Diagnostix, Inc and Medipattern Corporation, a pioneer in the development of medical software solutions, is pleased to announce their joint efforts to create Visualize:Vascular(TM) for 3D review of vascular ultrasound images. The Visualize:Vascular(TM) series was included in the "case of the day" reviews displayed by NAVIX at its booth at the 2010 Annual Vascular Meeting held in Boston, MA. "Visualize:Vascular is unique in that both the visualization of the vessel and its contents can potentially have broad application in vascular treatment options," commented Robert Kane, Senior Vice President of Business and Clinical Development for NAVIX Diagnostix. "We believe that vascular clinicians including surgeons, radiologists, and cardiologists will benefit from using Visualize to understand the complete vessel."
Medipattern and NAVIX Diagnostix have worked closely together to collect vascular data under Internal Review Board (IRB) monitoring in support of their research and development efforts in the vascular market. The Visualize:Vascular software is Medipattern's first product developed for the vascular market, which represents 35 percent of the overall ultrasound imaging market.
"Through vessel segmentation and 3D rendering, Visualize shows clinicians a view of ultrasound imaging from a holistic perspective: for example the entire carotid artery which is the pipeline to the brain, is reconstructed in 3D and can be viewed from any angle. Prior to Visualize, ultrasound images were displayed as separate slices with no 3D capability. Visualize enables us to see the morphology of the artery as well as the structure within the artery walls, thickening and blockages," comments Angela Rodriguez-Wong, MD, RVT from NAVIX Diagnostix. "Understanding the type and structure of the blockage will enable clinicians to better plan patient treatment."
"Medipattern plans to first develop 3D visualization of carotid arteries," states Jeff Collins, president and CEO of Medipattern. "This information will guide us as we develop the product and submit it for FDA certification later this year." Collins continues, "NAVIX Diagnostix has been instrumental in providing clinical expertise throughout the product development cycle. Once FDA approved, NAVIX Diagnostix plans to install Visualize in its vascular labs certified by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). NAVIX Diagnostix is committed to superb patient care through adherence to the highest standards of patient care and to leading edge technology speeding accurate diagnosis."

The 30 minute screening is a painless non-invasive screening for carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease and can save the life of an at-risk individual. Joseph P. Hughes, Assistant Vice President for Clinical Services at NAVIX noted "by screening an 'at-risk' population, we are more likely to find individuals in need of treatment than in some other screening programs offered nationwide." September 10, 2007 (AUNTMINNIE.COM): - A recent auntminnie.com article comments on the value of ultrasound screening programs. The article entitled Screening opportunities boost ultrasound prospects" on September 10th, 2007 by Erik Ridley states that "Increased interest in screening examinations and early identification of disease offer an opportunity for expanded use of ultrasound," according to Dr. Edward Bluth of Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. In recent years, increasing attention has been paid by the lay press on healthcare issues and, in particular, the value of early disease identification and the role of screening, Bluth said. As a result, a better-informed public has been demanding greater participation in their healthcare decisions, and requesting screening examinations for early identification of disease. Another trend looming over the next year or two is the publics understanding of the increasing amount of radiation exposure they're facing from radiographic screening examinations, he said. The role of ultrasound as a safe screening tool is just now being appreciated in the press. Possible screening tests with ultrasound currently include AAA screening, carotid stenosis screening, and ankle-brachial index (ABI) for peripheral vascular disease, Bluth said.

The 20 minute screening is a painless non-invasive screening for carotid artery disease, abdominal aorta aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease and can save the life of an at-risk individual. Bob Kane, Sr. Vice President of Clinical Services for NAVIX noted "by screening an 'at-risk' population, we are more likely to find individuals in need of treatment than in some other screening programs offered nationwide. Some programs simply take all comers, regardless of age and/or risk factors, often resulting in far less than 5% of individuals in need of further follow up care. Programs that do not yield strong results are seldom repeated. NAVIX clients implementing the VEDI TM program have seen significant disease that would otherwise have gone undetected in their community, and plan to provide screening as an ongoing part of their service."
July 2, 2007 (TAUNTON, MA): - NAVIX recently surpassed the 150,000 annual run-rate for non-invasive vascular procedures. Our focus on marketing to the referring physician communities on behalf our clients has proven a large factor in 'same-store' growth for our clients vascular labs, and something they rely on from NAVIX. Our recent deployment of the Vascular Early Detection Initiative (VEDI TM), a routine risk-focused screening program is a consumer-based outreach program designed to further assist our clients in the identification and diagnosis of at-risk individuals.
